Home Happenings - February 2017

February was a fun filled month here at Moniteau Care Center!  We stayed very busy and it's hard to believe it is already March.

We enjoyed Valentine's Day with a snack bar and a DJ.  We also had a photo booth set up to take pictures with staff, family and residents.  We had so much fun dancing around and laughing!  During our Valentine's Day celebration, we announced our new King and Queen of the facility.  This honor was chosen by having jars in the Social Services office where family and staff put money in the jars.  The resident with the most money in their jar was named our Valentine's Day royalty!  All of the money that was collected was put into our activities fund for future fun!

Mardi Gras had never been a big deal at Moniteau Care Center until this year.  We changed out the bulletin boards mid month and started our Fat Tuesday with purple and green pancakes.  We then enjoyed donuts while we played hall ball.  Then, at 2:00pm, we served up some homemade goulash and had a party complete with a photo booth, hats, masks, necklaces and live entertainment from BJ Davis!

February 17th was National Care Giver Day.  The residents made cards for their caregivers and had a cake made.  We all gathered in the dining room and gave our cards to a caregiver.  We sat around tables and gossiped together while we enjoyed cake and ice cream.  The caregivers really appreciated this kind gesture from the residents!
